Beach Guardians Puerto Rico
Beach Guardians Puerto Rico is a grassroots program created and developed by Rincon Water Safety to empower communities with essential skills and knowledge for ocean safety and emergency response. This initiative is inspired by the Big Wave Risk Assessment Group (BWRAG) and reflects the global push for community-led safety programs, such as those being developed by the Hawaiian Lifeguard Association.
Our Purpose
Beach Guardians focuses on equipping individuals and communities with the tools and confidence to respond to ocean-related emergencies. By providing free training and fostering awareness, we aim to reduce incidents and save lives in and around Puerto Rico’s waters.
What We Offer
-
Free Training Seminars: We organize workshops on CPR, AED usage, and basic rescue techniques, accessible to all members of the community.
-
Ocean Safety Awareness: Through educational campaigns, we promote a deeper understanding of ocean risks and how to navigate them safely.
-
Community Empowerment: Beach Guardians encourages locals and visitors to take an active role in creating safer beach environments.
-
Collaboration and Inspiration: Leveraging lessons from global programs like BWRAG and the Hawaii Lifeguard Association, we adapt best practices to Puerto Rico’s unique needs.
Why Beach Guardians Matters
Every second counts in an emergency, and having knowledgeable, prepared individuals on the beach can make the difference between life and death. With no formal open-water lifeguard system in Puerto Rico, empowering the community is vital to ensuring safer beaches.
Get Involved
Join the Beach Guardians movement and be part of a growing network of ocean-conscious individuals. Whether by attending a seminar, volunteering, or supporting our efforts, you can help make Puerto Rico’s beaches a safer place for everyone.
